ATMs are scarce in Palkot; the nearest reliable ones are in Gumla. Carry enough cash for daily expenses. UPI (Unified Payments Interface) is gaining traction but not universally accepted in small shops. Currency exchange facilities are not available. Tipping is not customary but appreciated for good service.
Drink only bottled water. Carry basic first-aid supplies and insect repellent. Consult your doctor about vaccinations for Hepatitis A, Typhoid, and Tetanus. The nearest hospital with decent facilities is in Gumla or Ranchi. Avoid eating from unhygienic street stalls.
