Jharkhand State Road Transport Corporation (JSRTC) and private operators connect Jhumri Tilaiya to Koderma, Hazaribagh, Ranchi, and Patna. Main bus stand in Jhumri Tilaiya. Journey from Hazaribagh (60km) takes 1.5-2 hours, rupees 100-150. From Ranchi (160km) takes 4-5 hours, rupees 250-400.
Jhumri Tilaiya is well-connected by NH-31 and is close to NH-2 (Grand Trunk Road). It is 170km from Patna (4-5 hours drive), 60km from Hazaribagh (1.5-2 hours drive). Road conditions are generally good. Expect minimal tolls on state highways, rupees 50-100.
