A must-visit for history buffs. Can be extremely crowded, especially on holidays. The interior can feel a bit dusty.
Impressive from the outside. The interior is often closed to visitors or has limited access. Do not expect extensive displays.
A significant historical site. Some parts are not well-maintained. The climb to the top can be steep.

Drink only bottled water or filtered water. Avoid street food that looks unhygienic. Consult your doctor about vaccinations before travel. Murshidabad District Hospital is available for emergencies, but for serious issues, Kolkata hospitals are better.
Local SIM cards (Airtel, Jio, Vodafone Idea) are easily available with a valid ID (passport for foreigners). Wi-Fi is available in most mid-range and luxury hotels. Useful apps include Google Maps and UPI payment apps. Bengali is the local language; Hindi and some English are understood by many.
