Dumraon Railway Station (DURE) is on the Howrah-Delhi main line. Buxar (BXR) is a larger station, 20km away, with more train options. From Delhi, trains like Magadh Express take 10-12 hours, Sleeper Class rupees 400-600. From Mumbai, trains like Mumbai CSMT - Danapur Express take 24-28 hours to Buxar, Sleeper Class rupees 800-1200. No direct trains from Bangalore.
Bihar State Road Transport Corporation (BSRTC) and private buses connect Dumraon. Buses run frequently to Buxar (30 minutes, rupees 50), Ara (1.5 hours, rupees 100), and Patna (3-4 hours, rupees 200-300). The main bus stand is near the market area.
Dumraon is connected by NH-84 and NH-922. It is 125km from Patna, a 3-4 hour drive. Road conditions are generally good. Approximate tolls are rupees 100-200 for the Patna route. You can hire a private taxi from Patna or Buxar.
