Subramanya, also known as Kukke Subramanya, is a temple town nestled in the Western Ghats of Karnataka. It's renowned for the Kukke Subramanya Temple, dedicated to Lord Subramanya, the god of serpents. The town attracts pilgrims seeking to alleviate 'sarpa dosha' (serpent curses) and enjoy the surrounding natural beauty.
Subramanya offers a unique blend of religious significance and scenic landscapes. On the plus side, the temple is a powerful experience, and the trekking options are attractive. However, it can get extremely crowded, especially during festivals, and the infrastructure is still developing.
Reaching Subramanya involves a bus or taxi ride from Mangalore. Plan for at least a day or two to experience the temple rituals and explore nearby trekking trails. Book accommodation in advance, especially during peak season.
