You can reach Saltora by train to Adra Junction (25km) or Bankura Junction (50km), then by local bus or auto. By road, it is 210km from Kolkata via NH19.

Most attractions in Saltora, especially temples and natural spots, do not have entry fees. The weekly market is also free to enter.

Saltora is generally safe. However, solo female travelers should exercise caution, especially after dark in isolated areas. Stick to well-lit places and inform your accommodation about your plans.

You must try Macher Jhol (fish curry), Shukto (mixed vegetable curry), Luchi-Alur Dom (fried bread with potato curry), Mishti Doi (sweet yogurt), and Sandesh (sweet cheese dessert).
