West Bengal Transport Corporation (WBTC) and private operators run buses to Rajmahal from nearby towns. Direct buses from Malda (rupees 100-150, 2 hours) and Farakka (rupees 50-80, 45 minutes). No direct long-distance buses from Kolkata; change at Malda.
Rajmahal is accessible via NH12 (formerly NH34) from Kolkata. Distance is 370km, drive time 8-9 hours. Road conditions are generally good but can be patchy in sections. Expect tolls of rupees 300-500. From Murshidabad, it is about 100km (2.5-3 hours).
