Tamil Nadu State Transport Corporation (TNSTC) and private operators run frequent buses. From Chennai (rupees 200-400, 3-4 hours), Bengaluru (rupees 600-1000, 7-8 hours), and Coimbatore (rupees 500-900, 8-9 hours). Buses arrive at Puducherry New Bus Stand.
Punducherry is on NH32 from Chennai (150km, 3 hours). Road condition is generally good. Expect tolls of rupees 150-250. From Bengaluru, take NH77 (310km, 6-7 hours). From Mahabalipuram, take ECR (95km, 2 hours).
