Mulbagal is a small town in the Kolar district of Karnataka, primarily known as a transit point on the busy NH75. It serves as a commercial hub for surrounding agricultural areas, particularly silk production. The town offers a glimpse into rural Karnataka life.
Mulbagal offers a break from highway travel with some interesting temples and historical sites. However, it's not a major tourist destination and lacks extensive tourist infrastructure. Consider it for a short stopover rather than a long vacation.
Located about 130 km from Bangalore, Mulbagal is easily accessible by bus and car. A day or two is sufficient to explore the main attractions. Plan your visit during the cooler months for a more pleasant experience.
October to March
20-30 degrees C
Pleasant and dry weather. Ideal for sightseeing and outdoor activities.
Why Visit:
The weather is perfect for exploring the temples and surrounding areas. The climate is comfortable for travel and reduces the chances of heat exhaustion. This period avoids the monsoon rains and extreme summer heat. You can comfortably walk around and enjoy the local culture.
Tip: Slightly more crowded during peak tourist season. Book accommodations in advance if traveling during festivals.
July to September
25-32 degrees C
Monsoon season, with occasional heavy rainfall. The landscape turns lush green.
Why Visit:
The region looks beautiful with greenery. However, heavy rains can disrupt travel plans and make sightseeing difficult.
Tip: Carry rain gear. Some attractions might have limited access due to the weather.
April to June
32-40 degrees C
Extremely hot and dry. Uncomfortable for outdoor activities.
Why Avoid:
The heat can be unbearable, making it difficult to explore the area. This season is best avoided due to the high temperatures and potential for heatstroke.
Note: If you must travel, stay hydrated and avoid prolonged exposure to the sun.
