Transfer by shared taxi (rupees 400-600, 3-4 hours) or private cab (rupees 2500-3500, 2.5-3.5 hours).

Arunachal Pradesh State Transport (APST) buses operate from Tinsukia and Dibrugarh to Miao. Buses are infrequent and journey times are long (5-7 hours from Dibrugarh, 4-6 hours from Tinsukia). Fares are around rupees 200-350. Terminals are basic.

Miao is approximately 530km from Guwahati. The route involves NH-15 to Doomdooma, then state roads. Drive time is 12-14 hours. Road conditions vary from good to very poor, especially during monsoon. There are no significant tolls on this route. An Inner Line Permit (ILP) or Protected Area Permit (PAP) is mandatory for entry into Arunachal Pradesh.
