Chapra, the administrative headquarters of Saran district in Bihar, sits near the confluence of the Ganges and Ghaghara rivers.
The best time to visit Chapra is from October to February. The weather is pleasant and suitable for sightseeing.
You can reach Chapra by train (Chapra Junction), by bus from nearby cities, or by road. The nearest airport is Patna (PAT), 80km away.
Key attractions include Harihar Nath Temple, Gautam Asthan, Ambika Bhawani Temple, and Chirand Archaeological Site. Dighwara Ghat offers a Ganges experience.
You must try Litti Chokha, Sattu Paratha, Thekua, and Malpua. Explore local sweet shops and dhabas for authentic Bihari cuisine.
Chapra is generally safe. Exercise caution in crowded areas and avoid walking alone at night. Dress modestly, especially when visiting religious sites.
