The best time to visit Chandra is from October to February. The weather is pleasant and ideal for outdoor activities.
You can fly to Birsa Munda Airport (IXR) in Ranchi, then take a taxi or auto-rickshaw. Ranchi Junction is the nearest major train station. Local buses and shared autos connect Ranchi to Chandra.
Most attractions in Chandra, like village walks and local temples, do not have entry fees. Kanke Dam and Tagore Hill also have free admission.
Chandra is generally safe. However, solo female travelers should exercise caution, especially after dark. Stick to well-lit areas and inform someone of your whereabouts.
